MERC Programs Manager

Description: 
The MERC Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing SNA’s Building Belonging program, Youth Drop-In program, the Sports program, as well as daytime MERC staff, and providing support for nighttime MERC staff in coordination with the WE24 manager. In collaboration with the Leadership and Organizational Development Specialist, the MERC Programs Manager is responsible for ensuring quality programming that meets the needs of participants, and providing support and guidance for frontline program staff.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Hours:  35-37.5-hour work week. Responsibilities may require flexible hours to be worked (i.e. weekends), however, regular hours will be between 12:00pm and 9:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Remuneration: Hourly rate incumbent upon experience.

Environment & Open Spaces Assistant

Description:  Please note that this opportunity is open to individuals aged 18-29 and requires physical ability to perform the duties listed below.

Maintain and improve community gardens and green spaces. Tasks will include bee-keeping, litter-picking, lawn-mowing, compost turning, and more. The EOS Assistant will be in charge of leading teams of youth and assisting with organising community events, workshops, and food security activities.

Hours: 35-hours per week. Responsibilities may require flexible hours to be worked (i.e., evenings and weekends); however, typical hours will be Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

Remuneration: $18.00/hr on a bi-weekly schedule, with hours paid as worked. 

Deadline: Friday, May 15th, 2026, or until filled.

West End 24 Hour Safe Space Outreach Worker (Casual)

Description:  The Outreach Workers will be responsible for programming and building relationships with youth at the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre. This includes engaging youth with positive activities, performing risk assessments, providing effective crisis response, connecting them to community resources and social services, and providing mentorship.

Hours: Responsibilities may require flexible hours to accommodate scheduling. Although workers should expect to work overnight (10:45pm – 7:00am), Monday through Sunday, with hours worked between 12:00am – 7:00am, receiving a $1.00 overnight shift premium. 

Remuneration: $18.15/hr on a bi-weekly schedule, with hours paid as worked.

Casual WE24 Outreach Worker

Part-Time and Casual Youth Programmer

Description: 
The Youth & BB Programmer will be responsible for collaborating with a team to support both programs, Monday to Friday, at the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre. This position would work closely with the MERC Programs Manager and the City of Winnipeg staff to enhance and support strong weekday programming.

Hours: Responsibilities may require flexible hours i.e. weekends). However, regular hours will be Monday-Friday from 3:00pm – 9:30pm (6-20 hours per week). 
Possibility of increased hours during summer, incumbent upon funding.

Remuneration: $16.45/hr on a bi-weekly schedule, with hours paid as worked.

Youth Safe Space Sustainability (YSSS) Youth Mental Health Worker

Description: 
The YSSS Youth Mental Health Worker will offer mental health and wellness services to unhoused and at-risk youth accessing youth-serving overnight shelters in the City of Winnipeg.

The successful candidate will work alongside a growing team of peer support workers and mental health professionals. They will also collaborate with shelter staff to enhance the pre-existing supports available to youth participants.

Hours:  30-hour work week, with an overnight premium of $1 more for hours worked between 12am-7am.
Responsibilities may require flexible hours to be worked (i.e., weekdays, evenings and weekends).

Remuneration: $24.00/hr on a bi-weekly schedule.
