Hello gardeners! Do you want a free garden plot in one of the Spence Community Gardens?

Applications are open for 2024!  New and returning gardeners are welcome.

Get free seedlings, learn gardening skills at workshops, and build community outdoors!

Or pick up an application from the MERC (430 Langside) which can be dropped off through the mail slot at our 615 Ellice Avenue office or emailed to greenhouse@spenceneighbourhood.org.

 

Green Spaces

Green Spaces are City of Winnipeg owned lots that the SNA maintains, develops and makes safe places to be. These spaces are not designated as a tot-lot, community garden or park but function as open green space in the community. Green Spaces in our neighbourhood include:

  • 683 Agnes St.
  • Cumberland Corridor (from Maryland Ave. To Spence St.)

  • Maryland/Wellington Tot Lot
  • Spence/Cumberland Tot Lot
  • Jacob Penner Park – overseen by DMSMCA
  • Ogemah Makwa Okitaygaan – Chief Grizzly Bear’s Garden

  • Agnes Green Space
