Tips for Evaluating a Contractor

  • Ask friends, family, neighbours, or coworkers if they used a contractor they were happy with.
  • Ask the contractor for a list of references
  • Ask the contractor if they have certification in their field, and ask for proof of certification
  • Ask the contractor if they are willing to provide a start and completion date for your project in writing (SNA will be requesting this from you if your project is approved)

Your contractor will be required to obtain any necessary permits, so ask them if permits are required for this type of project, and whether they will be obtaining them.
