Environment and Open Spaces Update

June is the real start of the garden season here at SNA. We’ve closed applications for community garden plots – thank you to everyone who applied! Now we’re hustling to make sure the gardens are in good shape for growing this year’s veggies. Gardeners, if there’s anything you need, please call or email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can – we may even have some leftover seedlings to give away (while supplies last).

EOS is happy to welcome Gibo Shim to the team! Gibo is our new Assistant Garden Coordinator, and it’s his face you’ll see out in the gardens most days, making repairs and tidying up. Please say hi and feel free to ask questions!

This year we have big plans for renovations. New cedar beds are on their way to some of our gardens; community artwork projects are in the works; and the Maryland Greenhouse construction should be well underway! Thank you to everyone who attended the Community Consultation on the greenhouse; we loved hearing from you and we’re hard at work incorporating your input into future plans for the greenhouse project. Watch the 689 Maryland site to see the renovation develop.

Happy summer everyone!

Community Work is Heart Work!
