Ace Burpee spends his mornings on Hot 103 giving  people a reason to smile on one of the top-rated radio shows in the city.
Recently, Burpee has been making even more people smile in the West End of the city with a promotion that benefits two local non-profit organizations.
In response to a series of shootings, and one death, that rocked the area in May, Burpee was moved to help create the Wear the West End necklace in collaboration with jewelry designer Hilary Druxman. The inspiration came from remembering the West End that Burpee grew up in and not the violent area that is often portrayed in the media.

OK everybody! Let’s do some safety audits!

Participating in a safety audit is a great way to meet your neighbours, learn about community safety, and work together on making your area safer.

Spence neighbourhood is divided into eight areas- see the map on this page. This year, we are doing audits in Areas 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each area will have its own information meeting, and day to do the audit together. We’re really happy to have the help of the West End Biz in getting this done!  read more…
